NJ Quarterhorse and Paint Horse Stud is situated on a sprawling 63
acre |
Horse Ranch in the Tarlton area in Gauteng, South Africa. |
The ranch boasts acres of
land sewn with eragrostis grasses and is |
surrounded by three game farms where all sorts of African antelope roam. |
The barns feature eight mare boxes and four stallion boxes.
Foaling boxes
have their own separate paddocks en-suite. There is a 20 metre
diameter
round pen, as well as a specially designed 60 X 40 metre reining
arena |
installed with a special sand/clay compound especially suited to
reining, |
with spacious wooden paddocks all linked by neat pathways and
shaded |
by indigenous trees. |
There are no cattle on the ranch which
is dedicated completely to the
horses, which currently boasts registered American Quarter horse
mares
and two registered colts. The stud grows its own eragrostis and tef
hay
fields and presently does not run its own stallions. |
Regular Western Riding clinics are conducted at the facility
with overseas
trainers running the clinics. The renowned German
Western Rider, Haiko |
Keuchel is a recurring visitor, amongst others. There is barn
and paddock |
accommodation for horses visiting these clinics and the horses
are truly |
pampered here. |

NJ
Quaterhorse Stud is also the home of the fabulous Go West Tack Shop,
